Chicago EB5 Visa Assistance Center Opens

EB-5 program means $500,000 investment is a path to a U.S. visa

CHICAGO, Oct. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ --  Individuals and families willing to invest $500,000 to create jobs in the U.S. now have an assistance program in Chicago to help navigate people through the EB-5 immigration process and earn a visa to America.

The Chicago EB5 Visa Assistance Center – at www.eb5immigrationconnection.com – will offer advice on how to find a path to citizenship for investors. The center has a team of experts in the Chicago region to help families get their loved ones to the United States.

The U.S. Immigrant Investor Program, also known as "EB-5," was created by Congress in 1990 to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. Under a pilot immigration program first enacted in 1992 and regularly reauthorized since, certain EB-5 visas also are set aside for investors in Regional Centers designated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services based on proposals for promoting economic growth.

The Chicago EB5 Visa Assistance Center will work with consultants from the South Atlantic Regional Center, an EB5 approved investment group, to help people make $500,000 investments to hopefully lead to U.S. visas and citizenship.

"Chicago is the home to hundreds of thousands of immigrants who made this country great," said John Marcus Payne, aGlencoe businessman who is working with the center in the Chicago region. "If someone is willing to invest $500,000 in an EB5-approved investment, we believe we can help Chicagoans find a means of getting those family members to the United States."

Payne added, "This EB-5 assistance center is focused solely on helping Chicago-area families and their loved ones abroad navigate the process and obtain visas."
Chicago has huge populations of Middle Eastern, Eastern European and Asian populations of immigrants, many of whom have family members who have struggled to obtain visas.
