1995-ös megjelenésükkor a testvér-quartett Corrs együttes dinamikus hangzású ősi ír elemeket tartalmazó zenéjével új színfolt volt a pop-rock zenei élet palettáján.
A hagyományos kelta zenei elemek azóta is át meg átszövik a zenekar modern ritmusú dalait létrehozva a tipikus Corrs-os hangzást.
A húszas éveiket taposó testvérek Dublin közelében Dundalk-ban nőttek fel.
Gyermekkorukban sem állt tőlük távol a zene, hiszen szüleik szintén zenészek voltak.
1990-ben családi zenekarból hirtelen hivatásos vizekre eveztek, miután megismerkedtek leendő managerükkel John Hughes-szel, aki Allan Parker „The Commitments” című filmjéhez keresett zenészeket.
Az ismeretség eredménye új barátság valamint egy dublini koncertmeghívás lett az említett film keretében.
A szerencse akkor is mellettük állt, amikor egy kis dublini bárban léptek fel.
A hallgatóság soraiban ott volt ugyanis az Amerikai Egyesült Államok írországi nagykövete Jean Kennedy Smith is, aki felkérte a zenekart Bostonban a futball világbajnokság alkalmából rendezett koncerten való részvételre.
New Yorkban találkoztak az Atlantic alelnökével David Foster-rel, aki abban az időben Michael Jacksonnal dolgozott. A Jackson övezte biztonsági felhajtás ellenére és a már megszokott ír szerencse segítségével sikerült összehozni a találkát a studióban, ahol élőben játszottak Fosternek. A
z alelnök a következőket mondta: „Tízes skálán tízet… nem, tízes fölét adok nektek.”
A mondatot a szerződés aláírása valamint az első „Forgiven not Forgotten” című album megjelenése követte 1995-ben, aminek eredményeképpen váltak világsztárokká.
