Nyitrageszte betlehemezők (részlet)
A jelenetben a "kubó"val való cívódás látható, majd egy ének miközben bottal verik a ritmust. A kubó hátára a mellény alá erősített edényt bottal ütik, hogy ne aludjon a kubó.
A betlehemesből szeretnénk kisfilmet összeállítani (lsd. filmtervek)

TITLE: 247 The "Bethlehemers" of Nyitrageszte (segment)
The "Bethlehem Greeting" tradition is rooted deeply in Hungarian folk tradition. During Christmas, in almost every village, young people (mainly lads) used to go from house to house, staging a shepherd's scene and singing religious folk songs. The tradition varied from region to region and is still alive today in the Eastern part of Hungary and in Transylvania.
In this segment we can see the "shepherds" playing around (acting) with the "old shepherd," as they try to awaken him by hitting his back with a stick. The old shepherd's (designated) name is "Kubo" in this Zobor region. There is a big vessel affixed to his back beneath his waistcoat.
We would like to produce a short film on this topic. (See Film Plans)
9. The "Bethlehemers" of Nyitrageszte (re-enactment)
Young men from Upper Aha village demonstrate a "Bethlehem Greeting" game by acting it out. Folk researcher, Maria Jokai, collected this in the village of Nyitrageszte some 40 years ago. She staged this scene, taught to the boys. Also present is Ms. Margit, who was a young girl when this "Bethlehem Greeting" game was a living folk tradition.
